SANA'A. Feb. 23 (Saba) - Yemen will participate in the meetings of the 10th session of the Technical Committee for Arab Maritime Transport, to begin its work on Tuesday in the Arab League.
The chairman of the board of directors of the General Authority of Maritime Affairs Hani al-Bao'ani said, during his departure, that the two-day meeting will discuss a number of important issues relating to maritime transport and maritime navigation safety in Arab region.
The meeting also will focus on the proposal of establishing an Arab center for ships surveillance of International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
He noted that the technical committee for the Arab states participating in this meeting will also discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the Arab maritime transport institutes and memorandum of understanding draft of recognition exchange by certificate of eligibility for seafarers.
