Transport Billionaires: Forbes Version

The list of billionaires published by Forbes has become shorter by 332 items (from 1125 last year to 793). An average billionaire has also become poorer (-23% to $3 bn).

* Lakshmi Mittal, owner of ArcelorMittal and a ship owner, rates 8th with $19.3 bn.
* Hutchison Whampoa Limited President Li Ka-Shing rates 16th with $16.2 bn.
* George Soross holding 20% in Global Ship Lease, rates 29th with с $11 bn.
* Vagit Alekperov (Russia’s LUKoil) is 57th with $7.8 bn.
* Robert Kuok of Malaysian Bulk Carriers is 62nd with с $7 bn.
* Essar owners Ravi and Shashi Ruia are 86th with $5.6 bn.
*Vladimir Lisin (UCL Holding, Volgo-Baltic Logistics Co ) is 93rd with $5.2 bn.
* Klaus-Michael Kuhne of Kuehne + Nagel, and now also of Hapag-Lloyd is 107th with $7 bn.
* Alexey Mordashov, a shareholder in Hapag-Lloyd’s mother company TUI is 122nd with $4.3 bn.
* John Fredriksen is 132nd with $4 mn.
* Sammy Ofer (and family) is also 132nd, and also with $4 bn.
Maersk McKinney-Moller is not on the list.
