An accomplished young Caymanian has joined the ranks of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry, a branch of the Maritime Authority, as assistant registrar of shipping.

Tamara Bostock will be working out of the Cayman Islands Government Office in London.

“There are so many attractive opportunities for Caymanians in the maritime industry and they are not confined to just sea–going careers,” said Authority CEO A. Joel Walton.

“There are myriad land–based options, such as those available in the field of maritime administration, naval architecture, legal affairs, etcetera,” he said, noting that the organisation wages an active campaign in the recruitment of young people to the field.

Ms Bostock is currently at George Town Headquarters for a week’s training with Registrar of Shipping Lorna Washington.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to be a part of the global development of the Cayman Shipping Registry,” Ms. Bostock said.

“I look forward to working alongside my fellow colleagues in the Cayman Islands and throughout the world who are renowned for their first–class service in ship registration.”

The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry is the flag of choice for the majority of the world’s mega–yachts, and the organisation prides itself on 24/7 customer service and satisfaction for its valued international clientele.

She then joined Barclays Private Bank, also here in Cayman, as a Private Client Executive, where she was charged with the management of trust and company relationships.

In 2005, Ms. Bostock relocated to the U.K., to take up the post of Sales & Marketing Coordinator for the Cayman Islands Dept. of Tourism in its London office.

In 2007, Ms. Bostock joined Schindlers (UK) Limited, also in London, as Senior Client Manager in charge of over a hundred trust and company relationships, and the maintenance of all requisite documentation and due diligence.

She is certified by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Additionally, she holds advance–level certifications in company law and practice, trust creation, trustee investment and financial appraisals, and trust administration and accounts.
