The MCA is looking for a number of surveyors to join its multidiscipline survey teams.
You will assist in meeting the MCA’s maritime strategy of Safer Ships and Cleaner Seas and you will carry out statutory surveys, inspections, audits and enforcement duties, in a combination of desk work and ship surveys. This is a very varied and rewarding job, with the opportunity to bring your professional and technical skills to supporting the expanding UK merchant fleet and offshore industry, with its diverse customer base. The role involves official travel thoughout UK (full driving licence valid for the UK is required), offshore and short term survey visits overseas.
With a marine industry background, and extensive experience in a managerial role, onboard ship or in a technical capacity, you will hold at least an MCA STCW II/2 Master unlimited Certificate of Competency, MCA STCW Chief Engineer III/2 Unlimited Certificate of Competency, or an Honours Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Technology.
You will be commercially aware, have good communication skills and be able to deliver excellent customer service and most importantly, share our vision of ensuring that the MCA remains the world leader in maritime safety.
