Shell Trading integrates a global portfolio of crude oil, refined products, natural gas electrical power and chemicals. Based in the UK, US, Canada, Singapore, The Netherlands, Japan, Barbados, United Arab Emirates, The Philippines and Russia and with over 2000 employees, on any one day we can trade over 11 million barrels of crude and oil products and 9 billion cubic feet of natural gas. We also provide marine expertise to over 40 operating units and manage a fleet of around 45 gas and oil tankers and trade 45 million megawatt hours of power quarterly. Shell Energy North America markets energy-related products and services associated with wholesale natural gas and power marketing and trading. From start-up in the mid 1990s, this company has become one of the largest wholesale energy marketers and traders in North America and continues to grow.

General Position Definition

The role will be responsible for initiating and managing new and existing transportation agreements, monitoring and participating in the capacity release market; and monitoring all pipelines in the Mexico gas grid and developing strategies which complement the Mexico business development goals and objectives.

Accountabilities

Specific responsibilities include:

*Interface with South & West region gas groups providing consultation and execution of gas transportation activities for cross border markets and transportation to and from Altamira and Baja LNG facilities, interfacing with G&P on a day to day basis. *Examine and analyze data to determine its relevance to the current market.
*Understand key market trends and indicators as well as spot and term trends.
*Recommend trading and marketing strategies and advise South & West Leaders on market changes.
*Utilize analysis and modeling to arrive at sound decisions.
*Breakdown a basic transaction into tradable or manageable components using industry or company techniques.
*Build a useful network of key internal and external relationships.
*Serve as account manager principally responsible for maintaining and growing the business relationships with pipelines.

Experience and Qualifications required

*Degree in business, economics, finance, or engineering.
*5+ years experience in commodity trading and transportation with specific experience in gas and power markets.

Preferred:
*Specific experience/knowledge Mexican gas and/or power markets.
*Fluent Spanish and English.Excellent negotiating and consensus building skills.
*Proven experience with complex project management and implementation.
*Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Strong analytic and problem solving skills with ability to achieve ambitious targets.
