The tall ship Cuauhtemoc of the Mexican navy docked at Aloha Tower's Pier 8 this morning.

The ship, affectionately called the Knight of the Sea, will be open to the public from noon to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow

The ship, homeported in Acapulco and named for the last Aztec emperor, who was executed by the conquistador Cortes in 1525, is en route to Japan. It will also make port calls in China, South Korea, Russia and the mainland.

The ship carries a company of 260, including 99 recent graduates of Mexico's naval military school, and is participating in celebrations observing 400 years of maritime communication between Mexico and Asia.
