Shanghai Offshore Petroleum Bureau takes delivery of new seismic vessel

Shanghai Offshore Petroleum Bureau has taken delivery of Fa Xian 6, a Rolls-Royce-designed seismic research vessel.
Fa Xian 6, a Rolls-Royce UT 830 CD design, is the first of its type to be built in China. It is equipped with a package of Rolls-Royce power and propulsion systems as well as advanced automated handling systems for deploying the seismic equipment.

Built by Shanghai Shipyard, Fa Xian 6 was recently delivered to Shanghai Offshore Petroleum Bureau, which is a part of the Chinese conglomerate Sinopec. The vessel will tow up to 14 streamers, each 12km long.
