Source: Baird
Port representatives from the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) met in Singapore on December 1 to discuss the issue of climate change and its probable damage to water salinity.

In his opening address chief executive of Singapore’s Maritime Port Authority (MPA) Lam Yi Young touched on consolidating the spirit of cooperation in tackling issues concerning port operators.

After the meeting, one representative at the ASEAN Port Association (APA) told Baird Maritime that tentative steps would be taken to grade water in port environs via a system of indexing.

The APA conference is an annual event that brings together port officials from the ASEAN region.
