Shanghai: Chinese heavyweights China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), Baosteel and China Shipping are to jointly invest in what will be South China’s largest shipyard. CSIC Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Co, which was inaugurated earlier this month has already secured two sets of orders from China Shipping and is confident of boosting its orderbook further in the near future.

Longxue is one of three planned national shipbuilding bases in China and will cater to merchant shipping, ship repair, special purpose ships and offshore and marine engineering.
