MEXICO CITY: Jesús Reyes Heroles, the CEO of Mexico's state oil company PEMEX, met with industrial groups on Wednesday to present advances made in the company's strategy for dealing with suppliers and contractors, PEMEX said in a statement, according to BNamericas.

Under the terms of the energy reform laws passed last year, PEMEX must finish drafting the strategy by May 28.

As an example of the extensive work required by PEMEX, Reyes Heroles said the company will need more than four million man-hours just for the engineering of tender processes over the next two years, according to the statement.

The heads of chambers and groups Canacintra, Coparmex, Concanaco, Caname, Canacero, Concamin, and CMIC attended the presentation.

Reyes Heroles and the construction industry chamber CMIC president Humberto Armenta González also signed an agreement to renew the Pemex-CMIC commission, Pemex said in a separate statement.

The commission will promote infrastructure project development and a relationship of collaboration between construction firms and Pemex. It will also work to improve tender processes and the execution of contracted works.
