MFI Foundation, Inc. (formerly Meralco Foundation) strengthened its reputation as a training institution with a recent announcement of MFI’s partnership with Philippine Standard Shipmanagement, Inc. (PSSI) to provide technical training as part of PSSI’s cadet training program.
PSSI, in behalf of its principal Shinwa Marine Corporation, has tapped the MFI Technological Institute (MFI-TI) to conduct technical upgrading programs starting this month. The program has two-phases, with the first part covering basic subjects for both deck and engine cadets. The second phase will enhance the technical skills of engine cadets through training in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, and marine refrigeration.
PSSI will choose cadets among the fresh college graduates of Marine Engineering and Marine Transport programs. The first batch of cadets began their training at MFI-TI this month. The second batch will start in August.
