Engineering contract with Petroserv, Brazil

Fuente: Deltamarin

Deltamarin and the Brazilian offshore service company Petroserv S.A. have signed an engineering contract for the basic and detail engineering of the ‘Dynamic Producer’ (PIPA II) FPDSO for Brazilian Oilfields under a contract from Petrobras.

Deltamarin has been awarded the design contract of the Engineering for Petroserv FPDSO conversion work. This is a unique project, being one of the very first vessels to be designed as FPSO with a drilling derrick and moonpool on deck (FPDSO). This conversion is based on an existing tanker.

The scope of the work includes all disciplines: Structural, Machinery, Piping, HVAC, Electrical, Instrumentation, Architectural and Safety. Deltamarin project team has already started the work at the head office in Raisio, where Petroserv has also placed their own site team consisting of 8 to 10 members. This engineering project has a very tight schedule and is to be completed within the first quarter of 2008. This is the first contract for the important Brazilian offshore market and strengthens our position on the lucrative FPSO market.

This work is the second of this kind for Deltamarin after the Bluewater Aoka Mizu conversion, which is now under construction in Singapore. The magnitude of the Bluewater work was about 70.000 engineering hours. Petroserv contract will be in the same order of magnitude.

Offshore is a main focus area for Deltamarin and first newbuilding concept developments are also on the pipeline. FPSO market is one of the biggest markets in Offshore Engineering and a natural target area for a company having considerable experience within shipbuilding industry.
